Traditionally storytelling has been a major device in all cultures. Stories help us understand the world around us and contextualise concepts. Especially when it comes to stories about people. Storytelling takes the impersonality out of data and statistics. Which are of course very important. However, it is through people’s stories that we really begin to see the effects of forced migration on people’s lives. Each story included in this project varies in its content and its reasoning. However, each shows the impact of forced migration and the knock-on effects it has on individuals lives. It is through the stories we see the hardships, the adversity and the strength it takes to overcome displacement.
